| African Savannah at sunset |
Africa is often called the cradle of mankind,a land rich in natural and cultural wealth. From vast savannahs and dense forests to rivers, minerals, and breathtaking landscapes, Africa has nurtured life and civilizations for millennia. Its diversity, history, and abundance make it one of the most extraordinary continents on Earth.
The Dispersal and Its Consequences
Assuming Africa was indeed the cradle of humanity, various groups migrated and settled across the world, giving rise to the diverse races we now recognize. Over time, those who remained in Africa were subjugated by their more advanced counterparts, socially, politically, and economically. They were enslaved both at home and abroad.
Does this mean those who stayed behind became incapable of progress? Did climate render them foolish? For centuries, Africans could have sought ways to improve life, yet vehicles, machinery, and industrial infrastructure remained scarce. Meanwhile, Europe advanced through the Agrarian and Industrial Revolutions, transforming society and the economy. Many African countries today still struggle with unstable agricultural production and underdeveloped industry.
Comfort and Complacency
If the forefathers who migrated could return, they would likely laugh at those who remained and their descendants. Africa resembles the Biblical servant who buried his talent out of fear. Necessity drives invention, yet Africa had little need to innovate;its natural wealth was abundant, and satisfaction with what was available limited the incentive to move beyond the comfort zone.
Ignorance and Foolishness
Africans today remain ignorant in ways that hinder progress. Ignorance can be excused, but foolishness is a choice. Yet many Africans embrace a dangerous mix of both: belief in witchcraft, adherence to misleading cultural practices, and other habits that stifle curiosity and innovation. This combination continues to weaken the continent.
Conclusion
I believe that Africans are equally capable of great things. Our potential is immense, but minor issues like ignorance, superstition, and complacency have stifled progress. With time, vigilance, and determination, Africa can achieve the greatness it is capable of.Unless vigilance and critical thinking are embraced, Africa risks continuing to destroy its own potential, remaining a “storehouse” of natural wealth for other continents, while its sons and daughters struggle to thrive.

I truly understand what you saying but then it's okay to reason that way 😂
